During This Pandemic

We Need A Good Leader

Attibutes of Good Leadership

    • Recognizes the strengths and weaknesses
  • Transparency
    • Communicates who will benefit and who will not
    • Communicates how much it will cost
  • Respect
    • Speaks the truth at all times
    • Recognizes the hardships and actively seeks ways to mitigate them
  • Plans for the future
    • Focuses on how to rebuild society in a post-pandemic world

Good Ideas

  • Testing
    • Test everyone for both whether we/they are actively infected, and whether we/they carry anti-bodies.
    • This is the ONLY way, short of a vaccine, that we can quickly open up our economy.  If we know who is infected, we can separate those who are from those who aren't.  If we know who has already been infected and has immunity, they can get back to work immediately.
    • Testing should occur frequently.  While this may be expensive, it is far less expensive than the congressional bail-outs and the impact of a semi-closed economy.
  • Infrastructure
    • Investing in infrastructure worked during the Great Depression by creating jobs and creating infrastructure necessary for economic growth.
    • In addition to repairing our crumbling bridges and dams, we need infrastructure that will facilitate US manufacturing. Manufacturing that creates jobs, ensures US self-sufficiency in times of global stress, and does not take a toll on our environment.
